Seize the moment… or not.

January 1, 2014 by Rachel C Vane 6 Comments

This is the time of year a lot of people (myself included) reflect on the past and think or make plans about the future. While I’ve been guilty of dwelling on the past, I’ve never been one of those “future” people. I just fly by the seat of my pants. And that way of being always kind of fed some weird fantasy that if I wasn’t an instant success at something, I must be a failure and therefore should move on to something else.

That instantaneous success belief also dovetailed in the belief that I’d only have one shot at really changing my life, i.e. “making it big”. But the truth is, in my experience, there is no “one shot” and no “overnight success story”. Most (if not all) success stories are based onย series of little “shots” and are usually filled with more failures than successes.

Where am I going with all this? Yeah, I’m not sure. Like, I said above – I’m not one of those “future” people.

What I do know is that I’ve found something I love to do, something I want to keep doing no matter how many times I mess up, and so, I am seizing this moment – because I am energized and ready to shoot for the stars in my business.ย Soon, you’ll be seeing a new look, a new website and a new direction in my business, one I am so excited about I can hardly sleep. And, thankfully, I am in no way hoping for immediate success.

All that to say… I can only hope you know what I’m rattling on about.

And that if you’d like to take a shot at something, I hope you do. If you find you love it, I hope you find the strength in yourself to keep doing it.

But always remember, you are perfect just where you are.ย

Wow, these beliefs and struggle sound very familiar to me..imagine that!! To add to your post, Rachel, just remember that you already HAVE “made it big” and are a huge success…..being an amazing human being, mother, wife, daughter AND entrepreneur. And I don’t care who would say I’m biased, it’s just the plain truth!
